The patented Drape-U face shields, models 20000U (nonsterile) and 21000-U (sterile), provide high level face and neck protection from exposure to splash or aerosols. There is a full field of vision through optically clear, anti-fogged 8 mil plastic, surrounded on all sides by an AAM 3 fluid barrier fabric.
The barrier fabric encircles the face, neck and head areas. Medical grade foam holds the shield off the face and a latex free headband holds the shield to the head. The nonsterile model 20000-U shield has a barrier fabric draping 7 inches below the bottom of the face shield for draping over the outside the gown or tucking inside a garment.
The sterile face shield, model 21000U, Drapes 5” longer at the bottom of the shield compared to the nonsterile version. This additional length provides secure positioning inside a sterile gown.
The side wings of the Drape-U barrier fabric extend to the back of the head, while ensuring the ears are protected. Each side draped wing has a flexible joint that can be opened or closed control airflow from the sides onto the face if desired.
Verbal communications are facilitated with clear visual access of the shield wearers’ face and mouth. Both Drape-U models are comfortable to wear, even over prolonged periods, delivering excellent protection to health care workers against workplace pathogen exposure.
